If Free TV ends, we'll be selling our TVs. as the other commenter said, We'll be damned if our family our going to gather around a computer screen, fiddle around with codecs and s, just to watch TV. And I'm certainly not willing to pay more than $10 a month (incl all taxes and fees) for cable or sat TV.
I say hands off of our freeTV - maybe promote it some more, maybe more people who are light TV viewers will cancel their pricey subions to hundreds of unwatched channels, and tune in. We did - 6 years ago, and have saved thousands of dollars, while still enjoying the news, some quality entertainment, and of course are also subjected to reality shows, but at least we know we're not paying for that garbage. |
| | 01/08/2010 | | I'm tired of hearing about selling-off bandwidth to benefit a relatively small number of affluent new technology users. I know more and more unhappy cable and sat. users switching to OTA. For most of the population living within 100 miles of a major city, it's as simple as hooking up a small digital antenna to their new big screen, better HD than cable or sat. and it's free.
You've still got to get that fiber signal to your big screen and I'll be damned if I'm going to watch my HD shows on a computer. |
| | 10/31/2009 | | Several of us have a running bet. I give it only 2 years with all the
problems dtv has caused. I keep asking everyone I talk to and am finding
very few people that watch over the air tv. I gave up almost a year ago
and mostly watch hulu. The first company that gets fiber to the house is
going to be the winner. |
