HBO Using T-VIPS Gateways for Video over IP Link
HBO has purchased T-VIPS video gateways to transport programming over IP from its New York City studios to the HBO Communications Center (HCC) Hauppauge and to facilitate remote off-line editing of HD content.

The TVG430 uses JPEG2000 compression to transmit HDTV (and SD) signals over Gigabit Ethernet links in real-time at bitrates in the 50 Mbps to 200 Mbps range. The gateway can be configured as either an encoder or decoder. Additional features of the system include low delay and ancillary data support.

Applications include professional broadcast contribution, studio-to-studio media exchange, in-house signal distribution and routing, post-production and live event coverage.
