BUF Releases "Sport" Replay Control System
BUF Technology has launched its "Sport" instant replay control panel with an internal video server. An integrated instant replay system, the small unit uses 8 x 8 inches of console space and no rack space.

Sport uses rear-panel connections for composite video, stereo audio, timecode and reference video. Menus are used to adjust horizontal and subcarrier timing for connection to a composite switcher. It is equipped with features that employ its instant-access disk recording capability. Targeted for small video trucks and control rooms serving colleges, high schools and other sports organizations, it can also be used for feeding stadium video screens.

Sport uses the Recon compact DVR board from Fast Forward Video Inc. The 3 x 3.9-inch Recon uses Motion JPEG compression capability and has video capture and playback at 30 frames per second, resolution greater than 550 lines at 4:1 compression and compression ratios ranging from 4:1 to 20:1.
