Lynx Technik to Unveil Multiformat Test Generator
Lynx Technik will introduce the PTG 5610, a full-featured multiformat test generator based on its portable Testor test generator.

The new test generator module, which fits into Lynx 5000 series racks, provides two simultaneous HD-SDI/SD-SDI test pattern outputs as well as 8 channel-AES audio test generator functionality with 4 external AES outputs. The PTG 5610 also can be used as a standalone multiformat analog video sync generator. Its integrated flash slot permits broadcasters to upload their own patterns as DPX files, so the module acts a stillstore.

Key features include multiformat SD/HD operation, two simultaneous and independent SDI test pattern outputs, plus a large internal library of static and dynamic test patterns. The dynamic patterns include luma and chroma zone plates with user adjustable horizontal and vertical center frequency.

The PTG 5610 offers an enhanced EBU A/V sync pattern for “transmission alive” verification, audio level verification and for testing audio/video delay (lip-sync). Other features include Genlock with cross lock and timing adjustments for bi-level or tri-level analog sync output and 48 KHz reference out; a programmable character generator for each output; plus an integrated matrix display and direct interface into the Lynx control system.

Possible applications for the PTG 5610 include mobile vans, broadcast master control rooms, production studios, network operating centers, post production and video duplication facilities.

Lynx Technik will be at Booth SU14609.
