Broadcast Pix Debuts 1080p Future-Upgradeable Switchers
Broadcast Pix has unveiled its upgraded Slate G Series of live integrated production systems and at nearly identical price points of its older series. The new Slate G product contains an Intel quad-workstation to house the video processing boards that it said are powerful enough to be eventually upgraded (sometime in future) to 3 Gbps 1080p.
Broadcast Pix, headquartered in Billerica, Mass., said the quad workstation has built-in clips and graphics, and upgrades its internal Inscriber CG to HD.
A 3G upgrade for the Slate G Series (which is now shipping) is projected to be available in the third or final quarter of 2009. The firm said in a statement that routers have already made the leap to 3G because “it offers significant advantages over conventional HD that are even more important for production switchers.”
Broadcast Pix plans to showcase its latest upgrades at The 2009 NAB Show in Las Vegas this spring (April 20-23).
