MSTV Video Honors Gulf Region Broadcasters
Throughout wall-to-wall coverage of hurricanes Katrina and Rita on cable and network news, I didn't see any mention of the hurricanes' impact on broadcasters, other than reports on the number of stations off the air. We knew many transmitter sites and studios had been destroyed, but we didn't hear of the heroic actions of TV broadcasters in the region to continue to provide news and vital information.

MSTV has documented the efforts of broadcasters in the Gulf region in a video Honoring the Dedication of the Gulf Region Television Stations. After watching the video, if you are a broadcaster consider how your station would have responded. If you are a not a broadcaster, consider how difficult it would be for other services to provide the same community service.
