WUHF-TV, the Rochester, N.Y., Fox affiliate, expanded it’s 10 p.m. newscast from 30 minutes to one hour. First at Ten was extended as of March 3, through a shared services agreement between Sinclair Broadcast Group, owner of WUHF, and WROC-TV, a Nexstar Broadcasting CBS affiliate that manages sales and operations of WUHF.
The late night newscast was launched Sept. 1, 2005 at 11 p.m. According to information from the station, it’s the market’s only 10 p.m. local newscast. The expansion comes at a time when broadcasters are under increased pressure to demonstrate more local service and programming for their licensed markets.
