Majority of Stations Ready for Feb. 18 DTV Rollout

Although some may see the 44 percent of stations that haven’t fully constructed their post-transition DTV facilities as a potential “transition train wreck,” it is important to remember that many are moving to their (or another station’s) analog channel and cannot put their post transition facility on the air until the analog transmitter is shut down. more

Harris and Freescale Partner to Create More Efficient TV Transmitters

According to the companies, the Freescale LDMOS solutions will allow fewer gain stages than were required with previous designs, thus reducing the space required for the transmitter and also improving reliability. According to Harris, the technology should result in a transmitter footprint of less than half the previous size for a given power output. more
