Advanced HD Production and Broadcast Facility at New Manhattan Facility Gives TBN a Solid Presence in New York City
SAN DIEGO -- March 5, 2008 -- Broadcast systems integrator TV Magic today announced that it has completed a new HD-capable TV production and broadcast facility in Manhattan for Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), the world‘s largest Christian television network. Located on the corner of 15th and Park Avenue, the installation will support production of TBN‘s digital TV channel in New York and support theatrical and motion picture debuts.
“We have relied on TV Magic‘s broadcast systems expertise in many previous projects, and the company‘s experience and engineering knowledge once again was valuable as we undertook this exciting expansion of our production capabilities,” said Paul F. Crouch Jr., chief of staff at TBN. “Because of its strategic location at Union Square, this installation required economical use of space and work areas. TV Magic understood our technical requirements and desired workflow and helped us to achieve our production goals within our projected budget and the physical limitations of our new facility.”
TBN‘s Manhattan production location replaces their SD television production studio and analog TV station located outside New York City. For many years, TBN‘s New York TV station has been located up the Hudson River. The new facility, located off-Broadway in the historic Century Center for the Performing Arts, provides TBN with a cutting-edge presence in the heart of the Big Apple. Now under the ownership of TBN, the building provides advanced HD production capabilities for Channel 54, which is now equipped to provide more local programming targeted to city residents. The production infrastructure will support events and programs held in the facility‘s 298-seat auditorium. “New York Now,” hosted by the pastor of Brooklyn‘s Christian Cultural Center, was TBN‘s first local program taped in New York City.
