Vaddio Reveals New Switchers and PTZ Cameras at InfoComm 2009
MINNEAPOLIS, MN (June 11, 2009) – Vaddio, the leading manufacturer and OEM distributor of specialty PTZ cameras and high-end camera control systems, will showcase the new ClearVIEW HD-18, the Canon BU-45H and BU-50H, as well as the ControlVIEW XHD and ProductionVIEW HD-SDI seamless switchers.
“InfoComm 2009 is definitely a milestone for Vaddio,” stated Rob Sheeley, President of Vaddio. “We just launched our own high definition PTZ camera, the ClearVIEW HD-18, as well as ControlVIEW XHD and ProductionVIEW HD-SDI, the latest additions to Vaddio’s line of seamless video switchers and camera controllers. We have expanded our partnership with Canon to include the BU-series of high-definition PTZ cameras and as the year progresses, we anticipate adding more products and partnerships to complement our existing line.”
The groundbreaking ClearVIEW HD-18 is equipped with a 1/3-inch, 1.3 megapixel CCD imaging sensor, a glass multi-element wide dynamic zoom lens (18x optical), a tally light and a 1.8-lux rating, providing superior images in a wide range of high-definition video applications. The HD-18 is the only multi-format PTZ camera that delivers component HD in 1080p, 1080i or 720p and simultaneous SD video. High-torque, micro-stepper precision robotics enhance performance with smooth pan/tilt operation for accurate camera movement and control. The HD-18 is compatible with any Polycom or TANDBERG videoconferencing codec.
Two new Canon Robotic PTZ cameras will be unveiled at InfoComm 2009 - the BU-45H and the BU50H. The Professional L Series Fluorite lens of the BU-45/50H cameras ensures outstanding resolution, contrast and color reproduction, and delivers clarity and image quality you won't see with conventional optical glass lenses that are used in robotic PTZ cameras. And, because it's an ultra-low dispersion (UD) lens, chromatic aberration is reduced for brilliant results. This f1.6 - 3.5, 4.5 - 90mm lens gives you a wide view that -- at its widest -- is equivalent to a 32.5mm focal length lens on a 35mm camera. It also comes with 2 built-in ND filters, and can be enhanced with Canon's optional WD-72 wide converter (.75x) to meet all your needs. Canon reserves the L-Series designation for its highest quality photographic lenses.
The Canon BU-45H weatherproof remote control Robotic PTZ 16:9 camera features three 1/3-inch (1.67 million-pixel) CCD sensors and a 20x optical zoom lens. Outputs include HD-SDI or SD-SDI with embedded audio (using a third-party microphone) and standard-definition composite video. The Canon 50H indoor PTZ camera incorporates three 1/3-inch (1.67 million-pixel) CCD sensors, a 20x optical zoom lens, an advanced Auto Focus function and Canon’s Image Stabilizer technology. Outputs include uncompressed HD-SDI or SD-SDI and standard-definition (SD) composite NTSC video.
The new ControlVIEW XHD is an automated robotic PTZ camera controller with HD, RGBHV and SD video switching, video transitions and camera preset trigger functionality. ControlVIEW XHD is designed to control up to six PTZ cameras (or other video sources) and assign up to 72 total preset positions. The 6 x 1 switcher accepts analog SD, HD and RGBHV on all inputs and up/downscales these signals to dual program outputs at either an SD, HD or RGBHV resolution. Through the link ports found on both products, the ControlVIEW XHD can also be connected to Vaddio’s Precision Camera Controller for a low-cost HD switcher/camera controller package.
The ProductionVIEW HD-SDI camera console offers HD-SDI and SD-SDI video switching, video mixing and automated control functionality. Due to the increased demand of Serial Digital Interface (SDI) in live broadcast, Vaddio created the ProductionVIEW HD-SDI multi-camera control system with an integrated 6 x 2 HD/SD-SDI seamless video switcher. The ProductionVIEW HD-SDI is designed to connect easily via a single coax cable for video. ProductionVIEW HD-SDI includes the 3 Gigahertz HD-SDI standard (SMPTE 424M) for 1080p video, as well as SMPTE 292M (HD-SDI at 720p or 1080i) and SMPTE 259M (SD-SDI).
