MICHAEL HALL APPOINTED AS CRYSTAL VISION’S FIRST REGIONAL SALES MANAGER

Michael Hall has joined Crystal Vision as Regional Sales Manager. This new international sales role was created to further increase the volume of worldwide sales and is a key part of Crystal Vision’s extensive growth strategy for 2008. Joining the company in early April where he helped Crystal Vision achieve its most successful NAB, Michael was the perfect candidate for this position with his international sales experience and thorough knowledge of the broadcast market and its products.

Michael has extensive experience in the broadcast industry, having spent the last seven years looking after the international sales for UK router and master control systems manufacturer Quartz Electronics, where he also gained experience of selling interface and keying products. At Quartz Michael focussed initially on the US market and then later the Far East, securing significant sales in China where the buoyant market was in transition from analogue to SDI. Crystal Vision has chosen to build on Michael’s experience in China when allocating the geographic areas where he will manage the relationship with distributors and end customers. Michael’s territories therefore include countries in the Far East (China, Hong Kong, Pakistan and Taiwan), the Middle East (Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Syria), Europe (Belgium, France, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Spain and Ukraine) and Africa.

The recruitment of an additional international sales manager was one of the first tasks facing Stewart McGhie in his new role as Head of Sales. Stewart’s selection of Michael Hall as Regional Sales Manager was based on Michael’s experience in the broadcast industry combined with his personal qualities. Explained Stewart: “Michael has held senior sales positions at other prominent broadcast equipment manufacturers, and has in-depth knowledge and understanding of the technology and product area within which Crystal Vision works. He is organised and methodical, with great personal stamina and drive, and has proved himself to have a flair for finding the business and closing the deal – which should help us develop business in new territories.” Michael also has appropriate academic qualifications in both electronics and management.

Continued Stewart: “Michael’s appointment will help us to continue to grow our business outside the UK. A third international sales manager will allow us to not only get our innovative products in front of more customers, but additionally to provide a higher level of support for our distributors and end users – especially important with our recent increases in the product range and volumes of sales.”

Michael explained his decision to join Crystal Vision: “The size and growth phase of the company was a large attraction. Medium-sized companies, like Crystal Vision, have zero internal politics and focus on getting the job done and keeping customers happy. Crystal Vision presents a positive listening and learning environment, which allows for self-progression and growth. I’m looking forward to contributing to the company’s continued expansion.”

Michael’s appointment brings the Crystal Vision sales team to four, with Michael joining International Sales Manager Bill Trevelyan and UK Sales Manager Ray Davis who work under the direction of Head of Sales Stewart McGhie.

Based at Whittlesford near Cambridge in the UK, Crystal Vision provides digital keyers and a full range of digital and analogue interface equipment including converters, decoders, encoders, distribution amplifiers and audio embedders to the professional broadcasting industry worldwide.
