Shining Technology, Inc. (www.shining.com), a global provider of tapeless recording and conversion hardware for the video and broadcast industries, today announced an extension of its patented, award-winning CitiDISK® FlashMem family, ultra-portable flash memory DV recorders boasting the highest capacities (up to 250GB) on the market.
Light on Weight, Heavy on Durability
A mere six-ounces with a thin form factor, the battery-operated (up to two hours internal and up to four hours external) CitiDISK FlashMem easily attaches to virtually any FireWire-enabled video camera. The unit’s tapeless workflow saves videographers and editors countless hours of digitizing videotapes. Instead, they can “recapture” more creative and production time – especially in the field.
Only one year after its initial 32GB introduction, CitiDISK FlashMem is now available in 60GB, 120GB and 250GB capacities (each in same form factor). Significant performance improvements have also been achieved, including an average recording data rate that is at least 12-percent faster than traditional hard drives.
In addition, through firmware updates by Shining, CitiDISK FlashMem now encompasses the full range of DV in one model, making it the first ultra-portable solid-state recording device to capture all digital video formats – DV, HDV and DVCPro50/DVCProHD (compatible with Canon, JVC, Panasonic and Sony FireWire-enabled video cameras).
With CitiDISK FlashMem, users seamlessly record their footage directly to digital video formats and access it immediately for editing (compatible with widely-used non-linear editing software packages, including Final Cut Pro, Avid, Canopus, Adobe, Matrox, Sony Vegas and Dayang Montage Extreme).
