LECTROSONICS SELLS 10,0000TH UCR411A
Burbank, CA - March 2008... Lectrosonics, recognized the world over as a leading manufacturer of wireless microphone systems and audio processing products, recently manufactured UCR411A Digital Hybrid Wireless™ Compact Receiver serial number 10,000. The receiver--a proven performer that is ideal for field and location production work--carries a lifetime warranty specially created for the 10,000th unit. The company is pleased to announce that this special receiver has already found its home.
North Hollywood, CA-based Location Sound Corporation, a well known equipment provider for Hollywood‘s production community, purchased the receiver for their stock and, in turn, sold the special unit to Steve Bedaux C.A.S of CineLUX Sound in Burbank, CA. Location Sound‘s Sales Manager Steve Joachim, commented on the sale of the 10,000th Lectrosonics UCR411A Digital Hybrid Wireless Compact Receiver, “Location Sound was very happy to have the opportunity to not only share in this great Lectrosonics milestone, but also to have the luck of the draw for the lifetime warranty fall to one our top customers, CineLUX Sound.”
CineLUX Sound‘s Bedaux is a well known sound mixer and sound supervisor within the Hollywood production community. His credits encompass a variety of projects, including (most recently) Good Morning America‘s Oscar Live Specials, CBS Sunday Morning, Larry King Live, and Coyote Ugly. Upon discovering he was the proud new owner of Lectrosonics‘ milestone UCR411A, he responded by saying, “It was a thrill to find out that I purchased the lucky #10,000 UCR411A from Location Sound. This was probably my 500th Lectrosonics purchase since I got into the business in the early nineties. I have to say that both Lectrosonics and Location Sound have played a big part in building my sound career. I have come to trust Lectrosonics‘ reliability and performance in mission critical, single-take audio situations. From live breaking network news assignments to hidden camera reality projects, feature film projects or commercials, I know I can get it the first time with my Lectrosonics in the mix.”
Karl Winkler, Lectrosonics Director of Business Development, commented on the sale of the 10,000th UCR411A. “We were excited about having made the 10,000th UCR411A receiver because it was introduced just a few short years ago,” said Winkler. “Hence, we thought it would be fun to do something special that would end up in the hands of a lucky user out there. We really had no idea what kind of user this would be, however, since these receivers have been used for a wide range of applications-- everything from the Baltimore Ravens' own film productions to Full Sail‘s training programs to the Cousteau's Ocean Future Society. So, of course, when we learned it was Mr. Bedaux who received this unit, we felt that it could not have ended up in a better home.”
About the Lectrosonics UCR411A Digital Hybrid Wireless™ Compact Receiver
With 256 selectable UHF frequencies, auto-tracking front-end filters, internal batteries or external DC powering options, and Lectrosonics‘ legendary Digital Hybrid Wireless technology, the UCR411A compact receiver is a versatile tool for field and location production. Settings are made from the front panel with a powerful LCD interface, making the unit ideal for use in Quad Paks, on sound carts, in portable bags, and in rack mount multi-couplers. To alleviate interference problems in an increasingly congested RF spectrum, an RF spectrum analyzer is built into the receiver. Lectrosonics‘ Digital Hybrid Wireless technology uses a proprietary algorithm to encode 24-bit digital audio information with no compression and low distortion into an analog format that can be transmitted in a robust manner over an analog FM wireless link. The result is much higher dynamic range--free from sonic artifacts-- than wireless systems using a compandor are able to offer.
