Thomson Lends Technical Expertise to SMPTE Australia 07 Conference
The Australian chapter of the Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers (SMPTE) will host its bi-annual conference on July 17-20, 2007, at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Center, in Darling Harbour, Sydney.
At the conference, Grass Valley key technical personnel will present a total of four technical papers and lead interactive discussions that will focus on several new workflow models and alternative ways of acquiring and storing high-definition images. The papers are designed to help illustrate how the industry can work smarter, improve efficiency, and increase profits.
Held every two years, the SMPTE Conference & Exhibition in Australia incorporates exhibits from leading industry suppliers who are there to demonstrate their new and improved products and services.
Bob Edge, Manager, Standards & Technology, will present a paper entitled "Has MXF Matured?" as part of Session 16 on the afternoon of Thursday, July 19.
Ray Baldock, Director, Technology, Standards and Applications will give a paper called "Applications of Content Security Technologies in Post Production and Broadcasting", which will be included in Session 16 on the afternoon of July 19.
Dr. Peter Centen, Group Leader and Chief Scientist, will present two noteworthy papers, one on "Wide Gamut High Performance Imaging in Digital Cinematography", which will be included in Session 9 on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 18; and the other, "The 2/3" 2.4 Mpixel CMOS Imager for Broadcast and Pro/AV Applications", will be part of Session 12, to be held on the morning of July 19.
