HOSA TECHNOLOGY ANNOUNCES EXPANSION OF DA-CAPPO DA12 EARSET MICROPHONE LINE

Buena Park, CA – August 2009… Hosa Technology, the leading innovator of analog and digital connectivity solutions for the modern musician and audio/video professional, and distributor of Da-Cappo Micro Microphones throughout the Americas, is pleased to announce that the Da-Cappo DA12 Earset Microphone is now available with new boom lengths designed to provide maximum comfort and precise microphone positioning for optimum results. With a short boom designed specifically for children and a long boom for those who require—or prefer—the flexibility of a long boom, these new models demonstrate Da-Cappo’s commitment to ensuring the optimum headworn microphone experience.

Like the original DA12, the new models utilize Da-Cappo’s water-resistant, European designed 2.5 mm diameter Omni-directional capsule that delivers natural sounding, full 20 Hz – 20 kHz frequency response with a rich low end, articulate midrange, and pristine, high frequency performance. Of particular note, the capsule is water resistant and, hence, impervious to perspiration or rain—making these microphones ideal for performers and broadcasters who, for example, must routinely endure the heat generated by stage lighting systems. Similarly, the new microphones are available in both -35 dB and -45 dB sensitivities for a variety of applications. The -45 dB model is often specified by broadcast professionals who require the extra headroom provided by a capsule with lower sensitivity.

Both the DA12 Short Boom and DA14 (long boom) models feature a hypoallergenic cushion designed to ensure long wearing-comfort. This cushion conceals a flexible, sprung-steel mechanism that may easily be adjusted to fit ears of all sizes. In addition, these new models are readily interfaced with a wide variety of professional audio equipment. System packages include a lavaliere style mic clip to secure the cable to one’s collar behind the head, a zippered leatherette microphone case, a cable, a cable clip, and a pop filter. A wireless adaptor is sold separately.

Jonathan Pusey, Hosa Technology’s National Marketing Manager, commented on the expansion of the Da-Cappo DA12 microphone line. “The original Da-Cappo DA12 Earset Microphone has been received with resounding enthusiasm for both its performance and comfort attributes,” says Pusey. “With the introduction of the DA12 Short Boom and DA14 variants, we now have an earset model that fits perfectly, no matter what the physical characteristics of the user may be. The level of one’s success with any headworn microphone is frequently directly tied to that person’s ability to wear the microphone comfortably. Otherwise, the user can become distracted. I’m confident both our existing and prospective customers will find much to like about these new models.”

The expanded Da-Cappo DA12 microphone line is available now. MSRP for the microphones is as follows:

1. DA12 Short Boom Earset Micro Microphone, -35 dB sensitivity (beige or black): $430.00 MSRP

2. DA12 Short Boom Earset Micro Microphone, -45 dB sensitivity (beige or black): $477.00 MSRP

3. DA14 (long boom) Earset Micro Microphone, -35 dB sensitivity (coffee, beige, or black): $447.00 MSRP

4. DA14 (long boom) Earset Micro Microphone, -45 dB sensitivity (coffee, beige, or black): $464.00 MSRP
