PPC® Showcases Innovative Locking HDMI Cable at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2009

DENVER — Oct. 28, 2009 — PPC®, a leader in connector and filter technology for over 65 years, today introduced its innovative Locking HDMI Cable at the 2009 SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Denver. To reduce truck rolls for cable operators and system down time for consumers, the patented, industry-first device features a built-in mechanism that automatically locks the cable in place to eliminate loosening and fall-out, an issue which has long plagued HDMI connections.

To resolve the issue of loose HDMI cables, PPC's Locking HDMI Cable grips a port with ten times the strength of conventional connectors, enabling average port retention of 25 pounds. An innovative release tab prevents port damage when removing the cable. The device delivers top-quality 1080p HDTV video and Dolby® Digital DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD audio, features the distinctive strength and flexibility afforded by PPC's Perfect Flex™ jacket, and can be installed easily without tools.

"Loose connections have been a problem since the HDMI cable was first introduced. To resolve this long-standing issue for service providers and their customers, we are proud to be introducing our Locking HDMI Cable at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo," said Dave Morrocco, vice president and general manager of broadband for PPC. "For cable operators, this innovative device has been designed to reduce service calls and the associated operational costs. And for end users, it means an optimal HD experience free from the inconvenience of system down time."
