New releases of EditShare Flow, EditShare Storage Series, XStream Series and EditShare Ark; Improved cross-format and DI workflows for broadcast, post and education
Sydney, Australia – May 19, 2009 -- EditShare™ today announced plans to exhibit at the Broadcast Asia exhibition held in Singapore June 16th through the 19th on stand 7J2-12. The EditShare team will demonstrate the latest enhancements to their Complete Collaboration product line which offers media acquisition, sharing, storage and archiving products for Postproduction, DI and Broadcast multi-editing workgroups. “Since our last visit to the Broadcast Asia venue, we have expanded the number of technologies integrated with the EditShare Complete Collaboration product line. Formal relationships with Assimilate, Digital Vision, ON AIR Systems and Vector enhance and expand the number of workflows that can be deployed with EditShare solutions for broadcast, postproduction and DI markets,” comments Paul Hayes, Managing Director, EditShare Australia.
Seamlessly integrated from ingest to archive, the EditShare Complete Collaboration workflow is the only solution to offer both Apple and Avid project sharing for editors. New features include EditShare Flow version 1.2, demonstrating expanded codec support for the unique EditShare Universal Media File technology. EditShare Storage and XStream Series Version 5.5 will be shown with several new data protection and media management features including tighter integration with third-party playout servers. The new multi-purpose archiving and back-up solution EditShare Ark will showcase support for the entire media lifecycle through seamless integration with Flow and EditShare shared storage series.
New Partnerships Accelerates Apple and Avid Media Sharing; DI and Broadcast Workflows
Also featured on the stand at Broadcast Asia is a streamlined shared workflow between Avid and Final Cut Pro made possible by a new partnership with Automatic Duck and EditShare’s Universal Media File technology which allows for instant, automated file format and sequence translation between Final Cut Pro and Avid editors, allowing them to share same media, with timelines in tact, from a single storage space.
Visitors to the stand may also see the accelerated, multiple 2K, HD and DI workflows made possible by the combination of EditShare’s XStream series and technology partnerships with Assimilate SCRATCH and Digital Vision. The XStream series is optimized for exceptional performance in high stream count, demanding bandwidth situations and mega-user scenarios. EditShare XStream DI allows the entire facility to be connected, from ingest to delivery of the final cut. EditShare is agnostic to any specific manufacturer so the EditShare XStream has been engineered to work seamlessly with any application supporting 1 and 10GbE. The seamless integrations with leading DI products delivers real-time performance and image quality while facilitating cross workflow media sharing with non-DI applications and systems, freeing facilities from bringing work into digital and putting it back to tape.
On the broadcast front, EditShare has optimized the XStream Series for high performance with ON-AIR Systems and Vector3 playout solutions. EditShare Complete Collaboration
The Storage and XStream Series are part of the EditShare Complete Collaboration line of products which provide shared media and collaborative workflows – from ingest through production to archive. No background transcoding is required and files are available immediately for editing. EditShare’s unique Universal Media File technology allows ingested media to be shared and used by editors working on both Avid and Apple editing applications.
FLOW Browse simplifies media cataloguing, search and retrieval within EditShare shared storage environments. Users can quickly locate media among hundreds of thousands of clips on the EditShare media spaces. From FLOW Browse, users can update metadata, log clips, and drag and drop media to Avid and FCP bins.
FLOW Ingest and Browse are fully integrated with EditShare’s Storage Series as well as the ultra-performance XStream Series for high-volume, high-demand environments.
EditShare Ark provides a full range of very cost effective, disk-based solutions for backup, mirroring and archiving needs. While Ark systems are not generally usable for real-time editing, in a crisis situation where something has happened to a facility's main EditShare storage, Ark Disk Based Storage can be “activated” and used to complete mission critical work while the primary storage is repaired.
