Martin to Speak at CES 2009
In what may be one of his last public appearances as FCC chairman, Kevin Martin will be a featured speaker at the 2009 International CES as part of the Industry Insider Series. CES 2009, produced by Consumer Electronics Association, will be held in Las Vegas, Jan. 8–11.
Martin will join CEA President and CEO Gary Shapiro for a one-on-one discussion addressing Martin’s tenure at the FCC, as well as challenges likely to confront the incoming administration and the consumer technology industry, including the upcoming digital television transition, cable compatibility and broadband.
Martin’s session is slated for 1:30–2:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 10 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in the North Hall. Martin joins Disney-ABC’s Anne Sweeney, AMD’s Dirk Meyer and Activision’s Mike Griffith as confirmed 2009 CES Industry Insider speakers.
This will be Martin’s third Industry Insider appearance at the International CES.
