The Simpsons Debut in HD

published The irony was not lost on last night’s HD debut of The Simpsons. Over the years, creator Matt Groening has used the series to fire off a number of barbs about the technology’s failed promises. So what better way to observe a screwed up DTV transition than using HD to showcase one of television’s most screwed up families a few days before the (until recently) scheduled analog shutoff?
But while the Simpsons screwups are somehow endearing, one can’t say the same about thing about the transition.
