Utah Scientific Expands Sales Management for New Product Line
SALT LAKE CITY — April 6, 2009 — Utah Scientific today announced the appointment of industry veteran Carl Gardner as director of sales for its new UTAH-100 Professional Products Series, an affordable range of products suitable for smaller broadcasters and for non-broadcast facilities. In the new position, Gardner will be responsible for establishing and maintaining distribution channels to make the product line readily available to customers.
"Carl's strong background in developing, managing, and maintaining distribution channels as well as his particular organizational skills make him the right person to get our Professional Products line established," said Tom Harmon, Utah Scientific president and CEO. "Like all of us on the Utah Scientific team, Carl recognizes the necessity of consistently responding to partner and customer needs in order to cement strong relationships with them."
Gardner has worked in the broadcast equipment manufacturing industry for 25 years, including a stint as product manager with Utah Scientific in the mid 1990s. He moves to Utah Scientific today after five years as general manager of U.S. sales for Sigma Electronics, where he oversaw both direct and distribution-channel sales. In the course of his career, Gardner has also worked for Philips, Dynatech, and Nverzion.
"Most of my professional career has been spent working with secondary distribution channels, and I thoroughly enjoy that," Gardner said. "As far as rejoining Utah, I share the company's philosophy that customer service comes first, which inspires all of us to go the extra mile to make sure the customer is completely satisfied with his decision to buy from us. Most importantly, I share the Utah commitment to backing up that pledge with action."
Set to be launched at the 2009 NAB Show, the UTAH-100 Professional Products Series is targeted at the growing market for professional-quality solutions in smaller broadcast and non-broadcast facilities. With a pricing structure that is attractive to partners including resellers and systems integrators, the series includes fixed-frame and modular routers and distribution amplifiers for all signal types, including 3G HD, and a full-featured sync and test signal generator with options to suit a wide variety of professional video applications.
