TV Magic Engineers and Installs A/V Facilities for City of Mission Viejo Community Center

SAN DIEGO -- Oct. 31, 2007 -- Broadcast systems integrator TV Magic is providing engineering and installation services for the new 13,000-square-foot expansion of the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center in Mission Viejo, Calif. The purpose of the facility expansion is to accommodate the community‘s needs for meeting and event space. The new A/V facilities installed by TV Magic within the community center‘s new wing will provide flexible multimedia display and presentation capabilities within the multipurpose and meeting rooms.

“The expansion of the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center will provide needed local space for meetings and business functions while also giving us the opportunity to increase the programming we offer to area residents,” said David Cendejas, senior management analyst at the City of Mission Viejo and project manager for the expansion. “TV Magic has been very involved throughout the process and has helped us to understand our options and what kind of equipment we would need to consider. The company has delivered quality work and equipment in previous installations for the city, and we‘re very excited about seeing this project completed.”

The community center‘s multipurpose room features a stage for performances and concerts and also is equipped with a large display screen for avariety of video and computer-generated presentations. The multipurpose space also can be split into two distinct areas to suit smaller events, and TV Magic is installing an audio system that enables use of the area in single- and independent split-room configurations. Each of the two additional meeting rooms is being equipped with a display screen and audio system. Monitors also are being installed in the lobby to keep visitors up to date on city information and events and programming at the facility.

The new wing more than doubles the size of the community center, and it is scheduled for completion by the end of January 2008, when the space will be available for city programming and use by resident groups, businesses, and other organizations. Additional plans for the new space include use of a fiber link to City of Mission Viejo facilities to enable live broadcasts of public meetings on MVTV, the city‘s award-winning government television channel, from the community center in the same way that city council meetings are broadcast.
