The first webinar in this series , scheduled for Thursday, July 16th at 2 p.m. EST/11 a.m. PT, will feature Tim Harader, senior product manager, Microsoft Silverlight Media, and John Bishop, Inlet’s senior vice president of strategy and business development.
Entitled True HD on the Web: Going Live with Smooth Streaming, the webinar will provide practical advice and guidelines for delivering web video with the quality and reliability of HDTV and dramatically increasing viewing times and repeat visits using this scalable online video delivery technology. Harader and Bishop will share real-world success stories of companies around the world using Smooth Streaming to create an unprecedented online viewing experience.
Inlet was the first encoding solutions provider to announce Smooth Streaming support for live and on-demand applications. Inlet’s Spinnaker, together with Microsoft Silverlight and Smooth Streaming technology, have already successfully enabled live HD streaming of numerous events, including the Italian broadcast of the FIFA Confederations Cup South Africa 2009, France Télévisions’ Roland Garros tennis tournament, Canadian Television’s MuchMusic Awards 2009, and the 2009 Wimbledon tennis tournament. Those technologies will once again be used later this summer to stream the World Swimming Championships and the World Championships in Athletics through RAI.IT.
