Gepco Further Strengthens Market Position With Three New Sales Management Promotions
DES PLAINES, IL — Gepco International is pleased to announce promotions within its sales team. The company has named Glen Powers director of sales and Ken Bernd and Rick Fernandez branch managers of the Central/International and Western Regions respectively.
"Glen, Rick and Ken have been integral parts of the Gepco team for quite some time, and I am happy to announce these well-deserved promotions," states Gary Geppert, CEO for Gepco International. "With over 40-years combined experience in the wiring and cable market, I am confident that their extensive product and application knowledge will help Gepco further strengthen its position in the marketplace."
In their new roles, Fernandez and Bernd will report directly to Powers and have complete (inside sales & field sales) responsibility for their respective territories. They will be working closely with the existing distributor base and calling on key decision makers to stress the unmatched value and performance of Gepco's cabling products and services. They will also be responsible for new business development in each of their regions.
Powers has been with Gepco for more than five years as national sales manager. He brings with him extensive sales and product knowledge in the wire and cable market that enables him to oversee and develop sales strategies. In addition to his duties as director of sales, Powers will also be taking on the temporary responsibilities of branch manager for the Eastern Region until the company permanently fills that position.
Bernd has more than 20 years experience with Gepco, 10 of which he spent serving as the company's inside sales manager. With extensive knowledge in cable manufacturing and interconnect technology, Ken has been a key member delivering the knowledge and service synonymous with Gepco. In addition to managing the Central Region branch, Bernd will also serve as the International sales manager, developing new business in the European, Canadian, and Pacific Rim markets.
Fernandez began his career at Gepco 12 years ago. In 2005, Fernandez was promoted to sales manager for Latin America where he was in charge of generating growth within these expanding international markets. In his new position, he will continue to represent the Latin American markets in conjunction with management of the Western Region branch.
