MEGAHERTZ BROADCAST SYSTEMS AT IBC 2008

MHz To Unveil New DSNG Control Technology In Amsterdam

Ely, Cambridgeshire, UK, 14 July 2008: Megahertz Broadcast Systems Ltd (MHz), the respected UK-based independent broadcast and digital media systems integrator, will be returning to the RAI Centre in Amsterdam in the Autumn for the IBC show, the European broadcast community's most important exhibition. From 12th to 16th September, 2008, representatives from MHz and its North American parent AZCAR will be welcoming IBC attendees to the company's distinctive two-tier stand at location F20, by the entrance to Hall 11.

This year, MHz’s specialists will be showcasing a new solution they have developed in-house for the remote control of outside broadcast vehicles via satellite. With the aid of a recently completed DSNG vehicle on the stand, the team will be demonstrating the application live at the show, controlling the internal systems of the vehicle from a remote laptop.

Under the successful team led by new Managing Director Greg Hoskin and Technical Director Steve Burgess, this year has seen MHz successfully close several large-scale HD and HD-ready studio and vehicle deals, including leading-edge file-based newsroom projects for South Africa, studio and control room design-and-build contracts from the UK to India, and construction and upgrade work on several HD sports production trailers for SIS (formerly BBC Outside Broadcasts). The latter are already providing HD coverage for BBC Sports coverage from all over the UK and from the Olympic Games in Beijing. The company will be celebrating these recent projects with the launch of a new corporate look at the show.

"Despite the prevailing international economic climate, 2008 has so far been an excellent year for MHz," comments Greg Hoskin. "We've met our stated goals of winning more valuable leading-edge file-based workflow projects to complement our excellent track record in OB vehicle design and construction, and some of the recent challenging HD and studio projects have exemplified the best of what our team can offer: cutting-edge system design, coupled with in-house traditional engineering skills and craftsmanship. We're also very proud of the latest remote control technology we've developed for use in outside broadcast applications; we’d like to invite IBC visitors to see it in action on our stand, and learn more about the operational and financial benefits it could bring your company. We look forward to welcoming you there."

MHz can be found at Stand F20 in RAI Hall 11 throughout IBC 2008. To make an appointment to speak to MHz staff at the show, contact sales@megahertz.co.uk, or call +44 (0)1353 645000.
