Australian film and television post production facilities are capitalizing on the power and flexibility of Fairlight’s new Constellation XCS console, which was launched to much critical acclaim at last year’s IBC Convention in Amsterdam.
Constellation XCS meets customer demand for a large format mixing console that incorporates Fairlight’s award-winning Xynergi controller technology. The new Constellation XCS range has a Xynergi Centre Section that harnesses the unique tactile power of the Xynergi controller technology and allows users to redefine how they interface with their creative environment.
The XCS panel centralizes all major system functions directly under finger tip control providing a truly intuitive tool for recording, editing and mixing. The XCS can be specified with any number of other Constellation panels, most typically the channel assign panel or in line panel, to create a console mixing environment tailored to the individual tastes of the operator.
In recent weeks Fairlight has sold Constellation XCS systems to a number of prestigious Australian customers including Stellar Sound in Sydney.
Stellar Sound is a leading advertising audio post production facility with three studios in its main complex and satellite studios in Northbridge, Sydney, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The company specialises in commercials for television, radio and cinema, as well as sound design for film, ADR services, ISDN link ups and Digital Media soundtracks. Its client list is impressive and includes brands such as Coca Cola, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Qantas Airlines, Virgin Australia, Nickelodeon, UKTV and Telstra.
Managing Director Buzz Pringle took the decision to upgrade the facility’s older Fairlight FAME hardware to Constellation XCS because he felt the new system could deliver more flexibility, speed and creative control.
