RF Central Brings Reception Alternatives to NAB 2009 With RFX-RMR-II Rack-Mounted 2 GHz and 5.8 GHz HD Upgradeable Receivers
LAS VEGAS – RF Central, part of The Vitec Group's RF Extreme business unit, and a leading provider of digital and analog microwave systems for the broadcast industry, common carrier, cable, government, military and international marketplace, is exhibiting its RFX-RMR-II 2 GHz and 5.8 GHz rack-mounted receiver units at NAB 2009 (Booth C3707). While the 2 GHz is primarily designed for ENG news remotes and the 5.8 GHz is geared toward live sports stadium and arena coverage, both offer complete HD upgradeability with the latest in high-quality, low-delay, HD decoding technology.
Each is able to receive both standard and high definition signals and output composite video, SDI (HD) or DVB-ASI depending on the source. They both feature an array of audio capabilities that include analog, digital and fully embedded audio outputs, providing exceptional performance for central receive sites, ENG and fixed link applications. The RMR-II units offer robust RF performance with exceptional adjacent channel rejection and are built with a state-of-the-art fully upgradeable COFDM decoder. Demodulation modes include QPSK, 16 QAM and 64 QAM with auto detection. While accessible in the 2 GHz and 5.8 GHz frequency bands, additional frequencies are available upon request.
"The RFX-RMR-II 2 GHz and 5.8 GHz receivers reinforce RF Central's mission to provide today's broadcasters with options and sophisticated technology," says RF Extreme Vice President of Sales & Marketing Don Hoeler. "While they are fully qualified to be part of the BAS relocation project when shipped in their standard definition format, they have been strategically built to grow with programming needs as broadcasts evolve into the digital age with full HD upgradeability."
