Action Engine at last month’s CTIA WIRELESS IT & Entertainment 2007 show introduced its MediaPro, an integrated multimedia service designed to give media companies and wireless operators a “user-friendly experience” for streaming video and audio content on a wireless device.
The MediaPro service lets clients enhance their on-device portals with rich, on-demand multimedia options that can be advertising enabled. Main features include encoding technology for converting multimedia into the appropriate formats for streaming on a wireless device; optimization techniques for automatically detecting and accommodating for network bandwidth and device constraints; hosted content management services; video and audio usage tracking and reporting services; advertising insertion, including pre-roll, mid-roll and post-roll video commercials; and impression reporting and billing integration and support.
