Archion storage comes to Full Circle
New York-based post house Full Circle Post has acquired a Node 800 storage area network from Archion Technologies for its expanding post-production services.
Rob Burgos, owner/senior editor at Full Circle Post NYC, said his staff is cutting 26 episodes of a lifestyle reality TV series for HGTV, and the Node 800 SAN is handling the large demand for storage capacity perfectly.
Virtual Media, an authorized reseller, implemented the Archion technology at Full Circle Post.
Archion’s Mac and PC client-compatible Node systems are available in two models, Node 800 and Node 2400. The Node 800 array offers eight drives with independent SAS channels supporting up to 8TB of storage, with four 4GB ports. All drives are smart capable for status analysis. It supports multiple RAID sets, multiple hosts, LUN masking and storage provisioning of all VDiscs on both ports for switchless file sharing.
The Node 800 is fully upgradeable to 8Gig Fibre Channel, providing 800MB/s throughout and each Node 800 has the ability to support multiple clients simultaneously. It also offers 1GB of cache RAM for digital video applications.
The Node 2400 offers all of the above features, although it can be configured with up to 24 drives through four ports, supporting capacities of up to 24TB of RAID storage. It can provide multiple streams up to 1200MB/s. It’s also upgradeable to 8Gig Fibre Channel connectivity.
