Atmel introduces microcontroller targeting mobile TV and payment security
Atmel last week introduced the AT91SC464384RCU microcontroller, the newest addition to its AT91SC Advanced Telecoms product family. It is designed for mobile TV and payment applications.
The device responds to the need for increased smart card security as the mobile telecommunications environment converges with the wireless, Internet and TV broadcasting worlds. Based on the ARM SC100, it features an on-chip compact ROM program memory of 464KB, 384KB EEPROM for data and 18KB of RAM. Communication interfaces are ISO7816 and SWP (Single Wire Protocol), with the SWP being fully compliant with the ETSI specification expected by the end of this year. It targets Common Criteria EAL4+ certification to assure complete security for mobile TV and payment applications.
