Audio-Technica expands SpectraPulse transmitter offerings

Audio-Technica has expanded its SpectraPulse Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless microphone system with the mtu201 XLR desktop transmitter. The mtu201 is optimized to work with any of Audio-Technica's 29 Engineered Sound gooseneck microphones with three-pin XLRM-type output, making it ideal for podiums, boardroom tables and other desktop situations where a gooseneck is preferred over a boundary-type mic.

The mtu201 has already been part of a high-profile event, when it was paired with A-T's ES935ML Engineered Sound gooseneck microphone at the third 2008 presidential debate, televised live Oct. 15 from Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY. The mtu201 was mounted within the conversation table in front of each candidate.

The mtu201 provides phantom power to the microphone and features a programmable touch-sensitive switch for push-to-talk, push-to-mute or toggle operation. The transmitter uses a rechargeable battery with a nine-hour charge life.

SpectraPulse bypasses the increasingly congested TV-band wireless environment to deliver clear, intelligible, secure audio. The mtu201 will ship this month.
