AVT to unveil ISDN backup feature for MAGIC IP audio codecs
At IBC2009, AVT will introduce a new feature for its MAGIC IP audio codecs that provides automatic ISDN backup.
If the IP connection between two MAGIC codecs drops out during an audio transmission, the systems switch automatically to the ISDN interface. The codec that has been selected as master establishes an ISDN backup connection with the parameters that have been configured in the software.
The backup function provides many configuration settings. For example, users can select the time in milliseconds for an IP connection drop out before the backup is activated. In this way, users can avoid establishing a backup for very short disturbances. The maximum backup time and the time frame during which no errors may occur before the systems switch back to the IP connection are also configurable.
