Blinkx Launches TV Content Search Engine
Blinkx has unveiled a search engine for TV content, Blinkx TV.
Users can search for clips of their favorite programs--Blinkx TV has 47,000 hours of searchable audio and video, indexed Web-based content and near real-time transcription of network video.
Blinkx founder Suranga Chandratillake said the search engine, "fills the gap between the explosion of rich media content and the growing consumer interest in harnessing it."
The San Francisco-based company also offers "Video Smart" folders that populate themselves with content based on preferences that the user selects. Users could set up a preference that alerts them to sport-related news flashes.
