Canopus Offers Options to Edius Pro 3 Users
Canopus has added support for MXF, XDCAM and P2 to its NLE video editors.
Edius P2--based on the Panasonic solid-state format--provides native real-time NLE support for the Panasonic P2 DVCPRO series. Support for the HD P2 format will be available when the AG-HVX200 DVCPRO camcorder ships.
"Edius Pro 3's implementation of P2 support in HD and SD, added to the current support of DVCPRO HD and DVCPRO 50 via IEEE1394, makes a great editing solution for Panasonic's family of DVCPRO products," said John Baisley, president of Panasonic Broadcast.
Edius VariCam Option enables editors to edit film-style HD footage in the Edius Pro3. Edius XDCAM option provides MXF support and offers a direct connection via LAN or i.LINK interface to the disk player. XDCAM users can add footage to their projects without having to convert material. Edius Pro 3 supports the mixing of different frame rates and sizes of AVI, MPEG and QuickTime file as well as HD/SD resolution.
