Broadcom develops single-chip receiver solutions for DVB-T/H mobile TV services
Broadcom has developed a series of 65nm digital TV single-chip receivers supporting the DVB-T and DVB-H standards, which the company demonstrated at last week’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
The system-on-a-chip (SoC) receivers include the Broadcom BCM2940 mobile TV receiver, a 65nm monolithic single-chip solution integrating a dual-mode demodulator and tuner supporting the DVB-T and DVB-H standards, and the BCM2930, a 65nm mobile TV receiver optimized for DVB-T applications targeting the high-volume set-top box and PC markets and enabling digital TV broadcasts as a value-added feature on portable platforms. Both receivers have been designed to offer minimal power consumption as well as high performance indoors and in high-speed environments.
Broadcom is now sampling the devices and firmware to qualified customers.
