CP Comm relies on Vislink HD wireless solutions for Rose Bowl, Parade, BCS Championship

CP Communications (CP Comm) relied on Vislink’s Link HD wireless technology for ESPN Sports’ broadcast of the 2010 Rose Bowl, the Rose Parade and also the BCS National Championship.

The Elmsford, NY-based company configured Vislink’s new Link 1500 HD wireless camera transmitter to power the sports network’s coverage of the actual Rose Bowl game in Pasadena, CA.

CP Comm used the Link 1500 at 1.4GHz for the Rose Parade. The 1.4GHz system allowed for better coverage at the parade due to the increased activity and saturation in the 2GHz range.

For the Rose Bowl and BCS Championship games, both held at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, CP Comm configured a four-channel system to provide coverage inside and out of the stadium, relying on the 7GHz channel due to the saturation of the 2GHz band in the area.
