NBC Universal has selected Crispin to support its multichannel operations at the network's New York City headquarters and its new cable operations center in Englewood Cliffs, NJ.
The facilities have the flexibility to provide live broadcast feeds of events on any of NBC's channels. Crispin's architecture, which was customized for the network's needs, provided the functionality that NBCU required for the facilities.
NBC Universal has been using Crispin's original automation system (System 1000) extensively since 1998 for the integration of live sports events, "The Today Show" and the Olympics. In the last Olympics alone, Crispin software played out more than 17,000 highlights and commercials without error.
NBCU's new 350,000sq-ft global headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, houses three studios totaling 15,000sq ft. The facility has state-of-the-art control rooms, satellite operations and nonlinear edit systems.
