Crispin Unveils Digital Transfer Agent

Crispin has developed the Digital Transfer Agent (DTA), an automated interface that moves content from third-party delivery systems to a video server in preparation for play-to-air.

STA for Pathfire connects third-party content distribution technology with automated on-air presentations. Using the Pathfire Digital Media Gateway, Server Connect and Automation Connect products, the Crispin interface automatically moves programs to a video server and prepares them for air.

From time to time, DTA reviews the DMG server for new programs. Crispin issues commands through its Automation Connect prompting the DMG server to push the programs to Server Connect where they are transcoded and transferred to a video server. Metadata is simultaneously retrieved from the Pathfire DMG and written to Cripsin's AssetBase.

Users can generate media status reports to compare record orders with the programs that have been imported. Crispin's media acquisition tool, Dubber may be used to perform quality control and verify program timings if necessary. Re-feeds to the Pathfire DMG are detected and re-imported automatically, avoiding missed updates, according to Crispin.
