Crystal Vision adds three new features to aspect ratio converter
By TVTechnology
published At IBC2008, Crystal Vision is showcasing three new features of its ARC-10MC 10-bit aspect ratio converter.
The new features make the ARC-10MC useful for some automation applications and provide an extra layer of security to protect the program output.
The new features include:
- Video index detection and insertion allows users to auto-switch the board to bypass if the input is already in the required aspect ratio, which is determined from index data carried in the video as defined in SMPTE RP186.
- Widescreen signaling (WSS) detection and insertion, which is based on the 625-line standard ETSI EN 300 294, allows the user to bypass the processing when the WSS indicates that the input is a specific shape.
- Relay bypass protection, which is made available via a new RM43 frame rear module. Relay bypass protection helps maintain program output in the event of power failure or board removal.
