Da Vinci unveils next version of Resolve digital mastering suite
Da Vinci recently made available version 3.4 of its Resolve digital mastering suite for post-production facilities. All features of Resolve version 3.4 work seamlessly within a DI workflow.
With version 3.4, Resolve provides a series of editing tools that can be used to construct a grading timeline or to trim an existing EDL to match an offline master tape. Users can assemble timelines from scratch, creating dissolves and other effects, and then generate a CMX-style EDL to reflect the result. Resolve version 3.4 also adds a batch recording mode that allows the user to build a record queue so recordings can be deferred to a more convenient time, allowing the record process to run unattended. This improves facility scheduling by allowing the colorist to continue grading rather than waiting for a record to finish.
