DNF Controls provides Universal Switch Panel to WFTV
Sister stations WFTV channel 9 and WRDQ TV 27, in Orlando, FL, are using three DNF Controls Universal Switch Panels (USPs) at their shared television studios to control studio microphones during live news production.
WFTV, an ABC affiliate, and WRDQ, an independent, have deployed two USP-8 systems and one USP-16 to complement the installation of a new automated newscast production system.
The USP is a panel of multipurpose, configurable push-button switches with a simple interface designed to meet the needs for broadcast and production. The device emulates the operation of mechanical push buttons while adding flexibility and application-specific functionality not available in conventional push-button panels.
Each USP features labels that change when activated, thus providing WFTV and WRDQ staff with both control and a visual cue as to the on/off status of each microphone. DNF Controls’ GTP-32 GPI tally processors are already in use at the shared studios.
