Dolby Laboratories has announce the Dolby DP600 Program Optimizer, which offers tools for automatic file-based loudness analysis and correction, as well as optional file-based audio encoding and decoding of Dolby technologies for cable, satellite, IPTV and terrestrial TV broadcasters. The system has also been designed to evolve with the addition of future software-based processing innovations.
The Dolby DP600 Program Optimizer expands upon the technology originally developed for the Dolby LM100 Broadcast Loudness Meter. Its process normalizes the loudness of audio programs without impacting their original dynamic range, and automatically configures the metadata parameters to ensure a properly encoded bit stream.
