Focus Intros New Line of Media Servers
Focus Enhancements has launched its new line of ProxSys Media Servers, including digital asset management (DAM) technology for video, multimedia and broadcast applications.
ProxSys features include digital acquisition, indexing, conversion, storage and play-out and are designed for medium and large-scale deployments in video-driven applications, including broadcast archive and play-out, TV monitoring, sports analysis, multichannel recording and monitoring and video archiving. In addition, the servers manage terabytes of low- and high-resolution video, audio, images, documents and data from a Web interface.
The ProxSys data storage and admin module is the core of the system. The capture suite offers live or scheduled captured with automation or manual indexing and file format conversion tools. The playout suite controls content distribution for single or multichannel broadcast through a network or traditional video formats. Operators also can export content directly to an NLE system to edit content or export media to an optical media duplicator.
Focus Enhancements, based in Campbell, Calif., first showcased Proxsys at NAB 2005.
