For-A Converter Supports Dolby E Audio
For-A Corp. has added Dolby E digital audio support to the company’s FRC-7000 high-definition frame rate converter.
Formerly, projects involving the use of Dolby E coding required additional peripheral processing gear in conjunction with the frame rate converter. Also, extra care had to be taken to ensure that audio/video synchronism was maintained. For-A’s inclusion of Dolby E support allows a single 3 RU package to handle everything with no need for extra cabling or setup time. The integration of processing functions also provides insurance against audio/video sync slips.
The For-A FRC-7000 audio option supports eight channels of 48-kHz 24-bit embedded audio and has inputs for discrete AES/EBU audio feeds. Four-channel stereo processing is provided. Up to 350 ms. of delay is available and the unit allows remapping of audio channels.
