FOX Sports, NFL Network employ MRC Link HD wireless camera systems at Super Bowl XLII
CP Communications in Elmsford, NY, provided five Microwave Radio Communications (MRC) Link HD wireless camera systems to Fox Sports and NFL Network for coverage of Super Bowl XLII.
The radios provided primary feeds for the day’s coverage from the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ. In addition, FOX Sports and NFL Network used two systems each for the pre-game festivities.
CP Communications partnered with Total RF Productions to deploy two hand-held units and two SteadiCam mounted units that transmitted live HD coverage from the red carpet area, the NFL Experience, the Willie Nelson concert and activity in the VIP tents before going inside the stadium for coverage of the game.
A receive system was set up outside the stadium on a JLG scissor lift about 50ft in the air, said Kurt Heitman, SVP of sales and marketing for Red House Holdings, which owns both CP Communications and Total RF Productions. The setup provided about 600yds of coverage area.
