Harmonic to Show Latest Streaming Technology at IBC
Harmonic Inc. is introducing a new line of video streaming products for video encoding, processing and broadband networking at IBC2006. The company will also show an end-to-end on-demand delivery system with content ingest, real-time content management and high performance streaming, all built around software from newly acquired Entone.
"Harmonic continues to set the bar by developing innovative and technically superior solutions that enable our customers to increase their revenues while bringing the level of flexibility needed in this fast changing environment," said Patrick Harshman, president and CEO of Harmonic Inc.
The company will also feature an expanded range of 1 GHz broadband access systems, a flexible wireless backhaul and CWDM-based commercial services platform, a system for seamless splicing within a statistical multiplexer, ultra-low bit-rate MPEG-4 encoding systems for SD and HD and technology for personal video recording and time-shifted television.
"Our next-generation MPEG-4 AVC compression systems including the recently announced DiviCom Electra 7000 high definition and Electra 5400 standard definition encoders, which will be publicly demonstrated for the first time at IBC, are consistently being praised by customers as providing the best video quality at bit-rates unseen in the industry to date," Harshman said. "We will also introduce new ProStream stream processing solutions that increase versatility and offer unequaled value for the operator by incorporating a range of vital functions within a single system."
Harmonic will be in Stand 1.361.
