Harris Upgrades Videotek Product Line
Harris Corp. has recently made available several upgrades to its Videotek TVM and VTM Series multiformat test and measurement instruments . The added functions that include multiple picture thumbnails, expanded video metadata and low ambient light operation mode, will be available as standard features at no additional charge.
The multiple picture thumbnails feature, available in the Videotek TVM-950, TVM-950-E, TVM-850, TVM-850-E and the VTM Series, enables picture-presence monitoring via a picture thumbnail. The new, expanded video metadata function is scheduled for availability in all Videotek TVM-900 series and TVM-800 series instruments, and the VTM Series. It includes all of the most common methods for aspect ratio signaling. Low ambient light operation mode has been added for all Videotek TVM-900 series, TVM-800 series and VTM Series instruments to specifically address the needs of colorists, editors and technicians who wish to work in a dark environment uncontaminated by extraneous light sources, according to the company.
"The introduction of these latest enhancements to our test and measurement instruments once again demonstrates our commitment to the market and to the customers who choose our products," said Tim Thorsteinson, president of Harris Broadcast Communications Division.
The company said all of these new features are scheduled to be available in units shipped after July 15. The new features are also available for existing users through a flash update to the equipment firmware.
