Heil introduces wireless capsules
Heil Sound has introduced two new microphone capsules designed as screw-on replacements for many popular wireless handhelds. The premium PR 35 microphone has been adapted in capsule form as Model RC 35, while the PR 22 microphone has been reborn as the RC 22 wireless capsule. Availability will be through authorized Heil Sound dealers.
Company founder and President Bob Heil said, “I have had many singers ask about wireless versions of the PR 35 and PR 22. They have found the sound of these two mics to be the ‘fit’ for their voices, yet still have a need to roam the stage. Given the chaotic state of the wireless mic industry, I prefer to focus on the front end of the microphone and build great-sounding products whether it is a wired Heil mic or a replacement capsule on a wireless.”
Both wireless capsules are designed to retain the original sonic signature of their wired counterparts. The PR 35 features a 1.5in dynamic element that has been used by Jakob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Joan Baez and others. Similarly, the new RC 22 capsule uses the 1.25in diaphragm and circuitry of the PR 22 microphone.
