Hitachi enhances SK-HD1000 studio, field production cameras
Hitachi Kokusai Electric has made several additions to its SK-HD1000 HDTV studio and field production camera.
Hitachi has upgraded the performance of its SK-HD1000 camera to 60dB HDTV signal-to-noise ratio at F10.0 and a resolution of 1100 horizontal TV lines. Complementing this performance benchmark, the company has introduced new functions, control panels, CCUs and other production accessories.
The SK-HD1000 relies on three high dynamic range RGB 2/3in progressive CCDs each with 2.2-million pixels, 14-bit A-to-D converters and its own digital signal processor. The new digital circuits designed specifically for the SK-HD1000 series help achieve exceptional depth of modulation, tonal reproduction and highlight handling characteristics.
A 12-vector masking system allows control of color hue and saturation to precisely tailor color reproduction to EBU, SMPTE or any other color standard for HDTV and SDTV separately.
