India cable TV provider selects NDS conditional access
NDS has announced that Digital Entertainment Networks (DEN), the new entrant in the Indian digital cable market, has selected a suite of digital broadcasting solutions to launch the company’s digital cable service.
NDS will provide DEN with its VideoGuard conditional access system (CAS), MediaHighway middleware, and an advanced electronic program guide (EPG).
VideoGuard conditional access and DRM is used by 82.7 million active subscribers, and NDS middleware has been cumulatively deployed in 76.4 million devices, enabling operators around the world to provide enhanced services to viewers.
DEN is upgrading the last mile to deliver an enhanced digital entertainment experience to consumers. NDS’ R&D facility in Bangalore, which has been operational for eight years and now employs close to 800 people, will be leading the development of a solution for DEN.
