Indonesia’s Metro TV automates with Sundance Digital
Indonesian broadcaster PT Media Televisi (PT Metro TV) is upgrading its network facilities in Jakarta and including a Sundance Digital FastBreak NXT automation system. The new facility will go on-air by the spring.
Working with systems integrator Roscor, Metro TV will use the FastBreak NXT system to import the facility’s existing database, thus allowing an easy migration path from its existing automation system. The FastBreak NXT package will be tightly integrated with ForeTV traffic software from MSA Focus.
Metro TV is also upgrading its newsroom and master control facilities to facilitate a tapeless production environment where local and international news content is handled easier and programs completed faster. The system was chosen to streamline operations and provide a cleaner on-air look for the 24-hour news channel.
The automation system combines a Microsoft Window operating system with a variety of shortcuts and navigation techniques. It incorporates a distributed, fault-tolerant architecture and an integrated SQL database.
